Budgeting Breakdown

Location

Virtual Only

Budget preparation is one of the first steps in putting together a proposal. Even though a proposal budget represents a "best estimate" of the project costs, it involves meticulous planning and forethought of the project’s needs and when expenses will be incurred. Budgeting also requires knowledge of both federal and institutional regulations and where to access the latest tools and resources. In this eight-week series, our presenters will break down budget categories into line items to discuss the basic rules and typical charges. Who should attend: any staff and faculty interested in learning more about proposal budgeting.

The series schedule is as follows:

10/1 Cost Principles and Direct vs. Indirect Costs – Stephanie Hyche and LeLe Kirkpatrick
